Tuesday 11-30-10

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of December! I've been watching some Christmas specials on the TV - seems like they get started earlier every year. We had some rain today but it has been warm. They are predicting 30 degree temperatures for later this week.

I got a lot of comments on my last blog for which I thank you all. I'm going to try to write something every few days so keep checking in--

Terry called my doctor in Charleston on Monday and I am scheduled for another operation to stretch my throat this Friday at 7:00 AM. We will have to leave here around 4:00 but we should get back by early afternoon. This will be the fifth time I've had this done and I hope this time will be the last. It is amazing how quickly my throat closed up once I started having difficulties. I haven't been able to eat much besides soup all day today. I've already lost a few pounds and I weigh less than 160 again.

I took some pictures of some of the flowers that Terry got for her birthday. She was wondering if it was possible to get too many flowers at one time but is still undecided. I prefer to have live plants but Terry really loves cut flower arrangements.

I am also attaching a picture of two orchids that I have in bloom as well as a Christmas cactus. Most of my orchids are still being kept by my friend Stan and he has agreed to keep them over this winter. I was going to visit his him and see his greenhouse(s) last Friday but wasn't up to it. I hope to get over there before this year is over. Stan, thank you once again!!
