I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. We only had three guests this year but Terry cooked a 16 pound turkey and we had all the trimmings as well. I have plenty of leftovers!
There isn't much new to report except that I think my throat is closing up again. I am having trouble swallowing some things - like turkey and dressing - and I may have to go back to Charleston for another stretching operation. Terry will call the doctor tomorrow and see what he has to say. I thought that I was done with all that after they took the stent out last time but maybe I will have to go through this procedure again.
I have been doing very well. I am exercising at least three days a week. I walk a fast mile, work on the Nautilus machines and then do an hour of water aerobics. The entire session takes me about three hours. I am developing some muscle and even gained a few pounds! I hope I don't have much of a setback over this swallowing issue.
Today was Terry's birthday and she got a beautiful flowers from the kids, a neighbor and from me. I will take a few pictures tomorrow and put them with my next blog.
I'm not getting many comments on my blog and I wonder if most of you have stopped reading it. Some of my pictures seem to have disappeared and my daughter, Tana, is going to see if she can fix the problem and perhaps set things up so an automatic notice is sent out when I update the blog. Meanwhile, I think I will send a note to my blog mail list to let everyone know that I am still alive and blogging again.
It is getting cold here and we have already had a few mornings with temperatures below freezing. I ready for spring!
I send along a few pictures from Thanksgiving including one of skinny old me. Our guests were Anne Marie and her son, Kade, and Melinda.
I would appreciate your news and comments.
Looks like you had enough in the kichen to eat. Picture of you is a much thinner person than the one I went to Canada with. Still think about you & Terry. Anna & I bought a condo in Beaver last Dec. However have not moved yet since we have not sold our house. With the state of the economy it may be a long time before we actually move. Good to hear from you. Jack Groves
ReplyDeleteJack-
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you too! Hope you, Anna & your family had a nice Thanksgiving. Yes, I lost over 100 pounds and it is slow to come back.
Seems like you are up late as well. Let's keep in touch.
Regards to all,
Bernie
Bernie and Terri,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you had a great Thanksgiving! We did too. We went to our daughter's house. Holly. You've met her during our shooting events. It was great to have everyone together and great that we had invited guests that had no other place to enjoy Thanksgiving with. All of your exercising sure does make me look bad. I'm pleased to hear you're doing so well with it. I'm going back to Duke on Dec 13 for a SPECT Scan. Not sure how long I'll have to stay.
I do think your blog followers fell off because of the lack of information for a while. I myself check it every day.
I love you Bernie.

Great pictures! Glad to hear you had a nice holiday and were able to share all that wonderful food. Leftovers are great and if you are tired of them, just put them in the freezer and about a month later you'll be thankful all over again. See you at the pool! We spent yesterday planting some new camellias & moving the burning bushes yet again! Bobbi
ReplyDeleteHi Bernie- So wonderful to hear from you. I hope this swallowing thing is a non-happening and you can continue to heal and enjoy the holidays. Jenn gave birth to Samantha at 11:57 p.m. on Tuesday so we spent Thanksgiving at Carle Clinic in Urbana. John, Jason, and Alysn came up and we enjoyed the turkey dinner that the hospital made. It was actually very good and it was nice to be together. We got to go home that evening and mom and baby are doing well. Sophie is adjusting to having a baby sister. I came home last night. I know it won't be easy, but they will do fine. I will send pictures. We miss you guys!!!! love, holly
ReplyDeleteHi, glad to hear you have been doing better and hope you don't have a set back with the throat Bernie. Sure makes me think of Thanksgivings many years ago. We sure had some fun on the farm. I sure miss you guys. Sorry I have not been to good keeping up with emails and your blog. We had a nice Thanksgiving, all is well and the family is doing good. Laurie's girls are getting big and Steph has a serious boyfriend that we all love. Courtney will be going to college next year. Steph will finish up her 3rd yr and will going to Wash U for her last 2 years for Occupational Therapy. Courtney will be going to be a pharmacist but not sure yet exactly where, Robbie and Misty moved out to Holiday Shores and Doug and Kelsey bought some land off Renken Road to build. No new grandchildren yet but do not think it will be to far in the future for Doug and Kelsey. All are busy getting ready for the holidays. To much hussel and bussel for me anymore. I hope I am doing this right haha believe it or not I have never done a blog before. Hugs to you and Terry we think of you so often. Pamela Dyckman
