I haven't written in my blog for about 5 days and that seems like a good thing since I got 12 comments to my last posting. That's a record. Now I have to respond to several of the comments I received via email or this blog will be 10 pages long. In the interim, my thanks to Mike, Tom, Bobbi, Tan, Bob, John, Adrianna, John, Becky, Cassandra and Dennis.

Dennis, I was so sorry to hear about your dad and my friend. Dottie sent me an email and let me know what had happened but we didn't know if he had reached the hospital in Atlanta or how he was doing. Please tell him that we are thinking about him and praying for a quick recovery. I am looking forward to going to his 97th birthday party! Please let me know if there is a number where we can call you and Frank.

I continue to lose weight and this would be a good thing under normal circumstances. However, I am supposed to be gaining weight to help with the healing process but that is easier said than done. I can only eat a small amount of food at a time and I don't have much of an appetite these days. I'm now down to 190 pounds and this may sound like a lot but I think I've lost over 35 pounds since my surgery. I have an appointment with my doctor in Charleston on Tuesday and I sure hope he doesn't put the feeding tube back in me!

I seem to have good days and bad days but still haven't had two really good days in a row. I'm also pretty weak and can't walk too far without resting. This probably has a lot to do with not eating enough so I'm going to have to try harder.

It was a beautiful today and I hope all you mothers out there enjoyed your special day. It is also supposed to be nice tomorrow.

A lot of my flowers have lost their blooms but now the lily's are starting and I have many of them. Just a few have bloomed so far but they are really beautiful. I'll try to send some pictures.

That's about it for now. I'll try to write a little more often this week and will certainly let you know what my doctor says after Tuesday.

  3. Bernie, Hope you are feeling better and able to eat. I like your pictures and am glad to see that you are up and about and taking some...photography is one of my favorite things to do. I have a new Sony DSLR I picked up with Mike's help last November. Wiz bang, big lenses, etc. Love it.

Hope Mother's day went well for Terry (and you). We did the usual extended family picnic thing (sent you a photo link to my photos on Picasa).

Pls let me know if you get this.

  4. Bernie: Great pics. We have missed spring here because we have had our house lowered to the ground and are building a new garage. Debbie's favorite time of year is in a mess here.
Bernie you live in the South, try eating some fat back, and more chicken fried in lard. Now that's some eatin'. Good thoughts and prayers for you often.
