A friend of mine came by this afternoon and gave me a ride on his motorcycle. Terry wasn't completely happy with me being on a bike, but she eventually gave her blessing more or less. It's been a long time since I've be on a bike and I enjoyed it. However, I have no desire to own another one.
Another Friday has come and gone and I seem to be getting better gradually. I still can't seem to put two good days together, but I have had two days in a row that were mostly good. I still don't have much of an appetite and I only weighed 189 lbs is morning. Food just doesn't seem very appealing, but I am going to have to try harder.
I hired a high school student (Terry's grandson) to clean my swimming pool and move some trash out of my backyard. He did a good job and the pool looks a lot better. Hopefully, I can start swimming in the next few days. I really need the exercise since I am still very weak.
It was very hot today, over 90 degrees and tomorrow promises to be worse. However, we are supposed to get rain which we really need. We are down over 7 inches from last year at this time. I have been using my sprinkler system to try to keep everything alive and green. It's a good thing I pump the water out of our lake, otherwise it would get very expensive.
Thanks all for tonight.
Dad,
ReplyDeletemay i remind you that mom does NOT have a grandson.
and that hardly qualifies for a motorcycle. that's 1/2 the size of my apartment!
you look good.
Tan
Bernie,
ReplyDeleteI haven't even primed the pump on my irrigation system, from the lake. Mother Nature has been keeping ahead up her in the UpState. Probably do it soon. Take care, God Bless YOU.
Mike
Bernie,
ReplyDeleteDad really enjoyed your visit this morning. We both think you look better in real life than you to in the great pictures we have seen on this blog. Of course, we know what you have gone through qualifies as extreme fitness measures.
I'll make sure Frank Jr. keeps you posted on my progress.
Frank
Tan,
ReplyDeleteMom was typing my last blog for me since I had lost the one I had written. She slipped in the "Terry's Grandson" bit when I wasn't looking and I didn't catch it before posting my blog.
I'm not sure what people think when the read or hear this comment from her and I keep telling her to say "adopted grandson" to minimize confusion but you know mom---.
Dad
Hey Bernie-now that I know you had a visitor, expect a PAAL drop in soon! And if that neighbor helper runs out of dirt in your pool please send him to mine-so much to do! Keep healing and smiling!
ReplyDeleteJen--
ReplyDeleteCome on over!
Bernie
Bernie-back from fishing. The whole group only got 7 fish- flooded streams. You look great- glad you hired a worker. Later- Bob Mc
ReplyDeleteBob,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. How far did you go to catch 7 fish? You could have probably done a lot better at the lake in my back yard.
Bernie
Bernie, it was great to have you visit tonite; too bad USC couldn't win...sometimes I DO think there is a "chicken curse"...glad you liked the JC dinner....glad you had no trouble eating. I think you look great....haven't lost hair, and I think it is terrific that you have maintained your weight as well as you have. Will pick you up in the a.m. at 8:30 to go to the Book Fair. When you get tired, I'll bring you home and go back...I think it is great for you to get out some and be around other people....thanks for your visit; I enjoyed it, and it was obvious that Juel was glad to see you....it's amazing that she doesn't "ask" to play ball....her arthritis has gotten more persistent, I think....she is also getting to be an "oldie"...she has been a great blessing to me. Sleep good tonight; hope you can get some rest...that and nutriment rich food will do wonders; you know it hasn't been long since your surgery; I believe you'll get stamina and energy back as time goes on. Sounds like a great idea to go to H20 aerobics again...I know everyone will be happy to have you back. Let me know what I can do to help you this week...I'll be glad to drive you anywhere you need to go....I have some flex time for the next two weeks, so call me if I can help. Love to you, becky
