Bernie received some great news today. The doctor said he can probably go home this weekend. I don't know who was more surprised -- me or Bernie. They took his chest drainage tubes out this am, stopped the morphorine pump (he gets pain meds through his feeding tube now, but will take pills when we get home), and took an xray to see how the new esophagus looks. We haven't receivd the results of the xray yet. He is now eating soft foods -- pudding and mashed potatoes. He can't eat much at a time because his stomach is so much smaller than it was, but that is normal. Anyway, Bernie is excited by the news and anxious to get home. Thanks for he prayers and good thoughts. Terry
