I'm feeling much better today. I still have trouble swallowing but have been eating a soft diet including some protein drink this seems to help. One more shot of radiation tomorrow and then we will go home for the weekend.
Not much is happening today but the sun is shining and it isn't raining for a change. However, it is still cold and it may snow a bit on Sunday. That ought to shut this place down! Nobody knows what to do when it snows in the south.
I didn't send the the above and it is now 7:30. I had a hard time eating dinner even though we had some delicious veggy soup. I'm now back in our room and thinking about going to bed. I have a lot of pain in my chest--
Tan, you'll be happy to know that I didn't have any sweets today! Perhaps I am having withdrawal sym
Hey Bern Dog! Sorry I haven't commented before. Apparently I didn't understand how this site worked. I expected to get notification when you posted something. Anyway, glad to hear you are progressing through the process even though it's very tough, I'm sure. We are having winter here in Florida, but not as bad as it looks like you are going to get. I will remind the SHS crew how to get to this blog.
ReplyDeleteStay well old man. Best wishes.
Hi Bernie, We are also in Florida an so happy John sent me your blog address. I had entered all addresses in my laptop and guess what I lost them all. Not the laptop's fault but the user. Keep up the good work and will keep you in our prayers. That list keeps getting longer. Pat Hughes
ReplyDeleteBernie, it sounds like you have had a tough week, but I am thrilled to hear how accessible the doctors are, and how quickly the medical staff reacts to problems that you have. Would you like for me to make some potato corn chowder for you this weekend? I don't know what you will feel like having. Please let me know? Went to USC/Florida BB game last night...USC won; very good game, but crowd was not "into it" as they were for Kentucky. My nephew, Patrick, went with me and both of us had fun. My nose is going to be "deep-freezed" next week...or the next....the nurse told me it is very painful; I'm going to request novacaine...I don't think I can handle much more pain. We now have a 115% increase in members at the Center, from 3 yrs. ago. It is increasing my work load considerably....I'm planning to work Saturday morning, although it is supposed to snow tomorow (Friday) I hope that you and Terry can leave Chas'ton early as snow is supposed to arrive in the Cbia. area around 2 PM. The SC Philharmonic Concert is Saturday nite, so I hope the weather won't intefere. I miss you and Terry being next door; no security issues that I know of....looking forward to seeing both of you for at least a minute or two this weekend. Let me know about the proposed soup....love to you both, becky
ReplyDeleteP.S. Juel sends love, Reuben sends a bark,(of course), William sends a bite, and Alex sends a great tail wag!!
dad,
ReplyDeletehope you are doing better.
good for you for not eating sweets.
i heard you have snow in the forecast!
be safe driving. and don't let mom run around all weekend.
it's been a looooooooooooong week. i'm SO freakin' glad it's Friday!
love Tan
Bernie, hope you get home before the big snow!! Don't stop for milk, bread or TP, it's probably all gone!! I guess there is some snow south of Columbia now. Take care and enjoy home this weekend!! No place like home, even though they are taking such good care of you. Bobbi & the Drew gang. We all miss you!!
ReplyDeleteYeahooooo!! You are on the downslide now,
ReplyDeleteBig Buddy!! Three weeks down and two to go.
That is just great! Good for you and Valentine
kisses and hugs to Terry! She is a real sport
and a most efficient Girl Friday for you, huh?!!
Isn't our snow beautiful?!! I took Frank to
dinner at Appleby's tonight and we were going
to Workshop Theatre to see "The Best Little
Whorehouse in Texas" but they canceled it ...
tonight's performance, that is. Think that
was because there weren't enough nuts like
us who were out driving in this stuff?!!
Come on now... we don't salt our roads like
Illinois does! The salted roads like Trenholm
and Forest Drive were no problem but others
like downtown ... well, let's just say I
didn't have any business driving on them
but I made it home.
We had Joan Brady for our lunch speaker at
Shepherd's Center Wednesday. She was superb.
Wish you could have been there. She and
others were asking about youuuuu.
Have I taken up more than my share of space
here? Just want you to know I check your
blog and want you to enjoy HOME sweet home
for the weekend and then... get back in
there and get this adventure behind you.
Love you, man and always pulling for you. Dottie
Hi, my favorite Valentine!!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you every day. That's the only thing I'm good at, Bernie. God bless you! Judy
