Week Three - Saturday

We had over 8" of snow last night in Columbia. It has been a long time since we have had this much snow and it was cold enough for it to accumulate. When we got up this morning everything (included trees, bushes, etc.) was covered. It was really pretty and of course the kids (and some adults) went nuts making snow men etc. I took a bunch of pictures and I will publish some of them here if I can figure out how to do it. (Tan - help!)

It even snowed in Charleston yesterday. I think they got over 3" which is a lot for the low country! Terry and I got back to Columbia before it even started to snow. This was good since no one knows how to drive down here when it snows. I heard on the news that there over 1600 accidents in Columbia alone. We just stayed home and watched the Olympic opening ceremonies. (I thought it was a little too long and not as impressive as China.)

I didn't much today either since I had a lot of pain in my chest. I was able to eat some of the food that our wonderful neighbor brought over and some soup that one of Terry's yoga friends brought. Tonight we had Shepard's Pie, complements of another special yoga friend. Everyone has been so kind and we really appreciate all the food and kind wishes.

I'm going to ask Terry to take my picture so I can post it here on my blog. I now have the start of a beard but I don't think it is going to last too long. My hair is starting to fall out like crazy and I will probably be bald and beardless in a week or so. It's a good thing I'm not vain!

Well that should do it for tonight. Thanks for all the comments. Happy Valentine's Day!
Bernie

  1. EIGHT inches of snow???!!!!!!
no way! that's CRAZY! Is that a record for Columbia? i remember one year when Charlotte got like 2 inches and we got off for a week!

It was 76 degrees here in LA today. yup, that's why i put up with all the crap that comes along with living in this city, so I can run around in a short sleeve shirt while everyone else in the country is trekking through snow!

why is your hair falling out if you didn't have chemo this week?
Are you doing your hot/cold showers?
    i'll call you tomorrow.
    looking forward to the pics.
    love Tan
