This is our first weekend at home in Columbia since the start of my cancer treatment. We arrived Friday afternoon to find that Anne Marie had stocked the frig (including flowers and laundry detergent). Friday night our neighbors, Frannie and Bob, brought us a wonderful chicken casserole complete with brownies for dessert. Saturday night Shelley and Bob stopped by and delivered a wonderful homecooked pasta meal, with salad, bread and dessert. Terry didn't have to cook the entire weekend and this gave her a chance to relax and watch some TV. We certainly appreciate the kindness of our friends and neighbors!
We are going back to Charleston this afternoon since I have a radiation treatment early tomorrow morning. It has been very cold this weekend, but the forecasted ice storm mercifully missed us. It is sunny today but very cold and I am trying to get my greenhouse thawed out since it froze last night. My thanks to Bill and Alfred for keeping my plants watered and for collecting our mail and looking after our house. Thanks also for the beautiful camelias (sp?)
Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers, Bernie

Hi BErnie and Terry, Have just read your Blog and so happy to know things are going well thus far. I pray they continue. I am busy with numerous things. since I am now "the care giver" as well as chief cook, shopper, gardner, oversee maintenance and do the bookkeeping for us there are no dull moments. Thus I decieded to have gas logs installed in our fireplace which will come this Thursday. Before this could be done I had the Chimney sweep come to inspect and clean the chimney. I am also hleping with some meals at church and have a frined who is assisting me which is wonderful. We ahve a dinner Wed. PM and are serving Chicken Pot Pie, congeled Cramberry salad and dessert. I am also doing the program using my antique toys. I have purchased nothing. They have all come down from my family. so I will be busy packing them up tomorrow to take them to church and set them up. I am also woring on a design for the Camelia show which is 2-13. I do not consider myself creative but guess I will come up with something. The tile of the class is "Magic MOment" and the theme is Disney World. thus I do manage to keep out of mischife. we had a delightful sermon this AM on God's" Love". AS stated in the Bible " Faith, Hope and LOve, and the greatest of these is LOve" Guess I have rambles on enough and I am so plesed to hear you are dong well at this time. Have the Dr's noticed any change in the tumor at this point? with LOve and God's Blessings to you Both, Nancy Humphreys
