It has been almost 3 weeks since I last updated this blog. Some of you have asked if no news is good news and I am happy to report that it is. I have had very few problems since my last visit to Charleston and all my body parts seem to be working. The only problem I have is that I still can't seem to gain weight even though I am eating with very little problems. Also, I still don't have much of an appetite but I try to eat at least 3 meals each day and I snack between meals. I can't eat very much at one time and when I do, I usually get a stomach ache. My doctor wants me to eat 5-6 small meals each day but that is more difficult than it sounds. However, I feel that I am making progress. I still do water aerobics three days a week and I am now also walking a mile after each each session. I plan to walk longer and more often as I get stronger.
It has suddenly turned much colder here. It now gets down to 50 degrees at night and it usually only gets up to the high 70'ies during the day. However, it is supposed to be in the 80'ies next week so maybe we will have a bit of fall after all. It has also been very dry and we are down about 10 inches from what we are supposed to have by now. We did get a few days of heavy rain about two weeks ago but a lot of that ran off and didn't soak in. I have been watering my ward and garden a few times each week and I glad I can take the water from our lake. I have very few flowers in bloom but I keep busy planting new ones for next year. A lady in my water aerobics class and I have been exchanging plants and seeds so I have a lot of new plants to look forward to next spring.
I am sending a few pictures. One is of a type of Jasmine that is covering part of my wall in the back yard, two pictures of Candle Stick plants that are about the bloom, a picture of my American Beauty bushe and a picture of Chicky curled up on Terry's computer.
Bernie- I'll be first to reply. I was holding my breath waiting for a good report. I think I should be there teaching you how to snack 6 times a day. Eat on!! Bob
ReplyDeleteBernie, I'm so glad to hear your news, and continue to hear about your improvements. You need some fried chicken, mashed potatos and gravy. Home made. Sorry Terri. That makes me gain during and if you make enough the left-overs are perfect to add on some more! Keep up the blog!
