I had a long day but this week is now all but over. I started the day at 10:30 and had my port readied for chemo. Then Terry and I had a meeting with my chemo doctor. He was very happy that the chemo drug had been approved by Medicare and said that this would benefit many people besides me. (Glad I could be part of the solution!) We then talked about my final chemo treatment and agreeded that we would come back to Charleston on March 4th, have the treatment in the morning and then go back to Columbia in the late afternoon. I then had a radiation treatment followed by 4+ hours of chemo.
We got back to the Hope Lodge and discovered that dinner was fried chicken and all the trimmings. Since I felt good, I ate some of everything without any problems. I am now back in my roon watching the Olympics and I still feel fine. I will take some of the anti-nausea meds later and hope I'm okay.

We had a call today from the lady who is pet sitting our cats. She said that the ring worm is gone and she will bring the cats back a week from Saturday. I will be finished with my radiation then and will only have to return to Charleston for one day of chemo and maybe another day or so for tests. However, we will be basically be back in Columbia until I have my big operation 6 -8 weeks or so from today. We are looking forward to getting reaquainted with our cats!
That's about it for today. Thanks for all the comments. I'm looking forward to getting home! I'm posting a few more pictures--

Tan...come back to Columbia....I'll cook for you!! Bernie, it sounds like the chemo was not as bad as I thought it might be; such good news that you were able to eat the chicken dinner last night. It's so good to hear you talking about being nearly through in Charleston, at least until the surgery. Glad Terry could have a bit of r&r and go out to dinner with a friend. Look forward to seeing both of you, at least briefly, this weekend. love, becky
