I seem to have no ill effects form yesterday's chemo and radiation. No nausea or tiredness or anything that I was told to expect. I even took a walk and had some pizza for lunch. I went to sleep last night at 10:30 (early for me) even though I wasn't really sleepy. I got up a few times during the night but that was because I drank 4-5 bottles of water in the evening. I was unusually thirsty.
The other great news is that the bandages over the incision made when they installed the port came off yesterday and I finally was allowed to take a long shower. Wonderful! I even followed my daughters alternative medicine advice and took a very cold shower after the hot one. brrrr! However, it felt great afterwords.
This afternoon we have a seminar on Deep Relaxation that Terry and I plan to attend. I then have radiation again at 3:30.
I'm having trouble sending emails from here so if you don't get a reply, to an email, you know why. I seem to be receiving them but can't reply unless I go out to web mail.
Best of luck to you Gary, on your preops. We will be thinking of you. Thanks to you and everyone else for the words of encouragement.

Dad,
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear that you are feeling well. lots of water and lots of sleep is great!
how's the weather there?
when you do the hot/cold showers, keep alternating the water back and forth- hot for a few minutes, then really cold for a few minutes, then repeat up to 7 times in 1 shower. So glad you are doing that and taking care of yourself!!!
love Tan
Checking your blog all the time. Keep up the positive attitude. Also is the Gary you wished good luck to our classmate? I knew he was having trouble just thought I would ask. Take care and tell terri to take care of herself. Pat Hughes
