Terry and I went to Charleston again today and my doctor removed the stent in my esophagus. Terry then drove us home. We departed for Charleston at 3:00am and got back to Columbia in the early afternoon. It was a long day and I am planning to go to bed as soon as I finish this I have a little pain in my throat but feel okay otherwise except that I am tired.
On Saturday - September 4th, Terry and I made a quick trip down to Bull Point to visit Jay Coleman. Jay's wife Marleen was visiting Chicago so the three of us had Jay's house to ourselves. It was a last minute decision to make this visit since Terry & I were still tired from last week. However, Jay said to come on down and relax and that is what we did. Jay & I spent some time in the hot tub and pool while Terry napped and did some reading. We returned to Columbia on Monday afternoon feeling very rested.
Yesterday, I saw my doctor here in Columbia for some more blood work. My red blood count is low and he doesn't know what is causing this problem. He should have the test results tomorrow. I suspect that I'm not eating enough of the right foods but I still have no appetite and nothing really appeals to me. I'm just trying to eat anyway.
Not much else is happening. I have a nurse coming by tomorrow to review my blood work, diet, etc. and then I'm going shopping for some clothes. I don't have anything that fits!
I have over 100 emails to sort out and I am supposed to visit my friend Mike Romine before he has to go into the hospital for some test next week. I also want to visit my friend Frank Brown during the next few days and another friend and Westinghouse college, Bob MacGarvey is going to stop by this Saturday in route to Hilton Head. I also have a bunch of meetings to go to in the next few weeks so I hope I can stay healthy!
I'm going to try to download some pictures I took last week.
Bernie, sorry you didn't get to the reunion. I think you made the right call there. Stay close to home, but see some sights. Hope you found some new clothes, tiresome pulling those big old ones up!Sounds like you really have a good team of Drs. and they are keeping you fit. Get well rested & keep those fevers away! Bobbi & all your Drew pals.
ReplyDeleteBernie, it would be easier for you and terri if we came down there to see you. This next week. We could come down and back in a day and that would be easier for us. I will get intouch with you soon.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless
Mike
