We are back in Charleston. Our weekend in Columbia was too short. I could have used a few more days. However, I only have one more week of radiation starting tomorrow. The last four weeks have really gone by very quickly - thanks to a lot of support from our friends, neighbors, family, blog viewers etc.
I'm presently watching the USA vs Canada Olympics hockey game. The score is 2 to 2 and it's a great game so far. Oops, the USA just scored again and the score is now 3 to 3!
It was warm in Columbia this weekend. It was almost 70 today! My spring flowers are starting to come up and I can't wait. I took a few pictures that I will try to post. They don't look like much yet, but it won't be long.

My friend from the Orchid Society, Stan Hutto, came by and picked up my plants today. He will put them in his green house and care for them until I get better. I must have about 120 plants! They sure filled up his station wagon. I am so happy to get this taken care of and, Stan, I don't know how to thank you.
Again, our thanks to Becky, Frannie, Shelley and George for bringing over such delicious food this weekend. We have enough left over for several meals this week. Thanks also to Melinda for the flowers and cannollis (all gone - they were wonderful!)
I'm still feeling pretty good and appreciate all of your support.
HI Bernie,
ReplyDeleteI've been keeping up with your blogs and
it is hard to believe how fast everyting
is going. I'm so glad that you are doing
so well.
I'm heading to California this Saturday
February 27th to spend 3 weeks with
my daughter and son-in-law.
Maybe Philip told you that he had lunch
with Lisa and I two weeks ago.
I guess you knew that the zoo was closed
the Saturday after the snow storm.
Again glad to hear you are doing so well
Jim
Jim,
ReplyDeleteHave a good time in California. I hope that I can get together with you and Philip for lunch again in the not too distant future.
Bernie
Bernie, I'm so glad that you're doing so well...I think that you look GREAT!! When you lose the rest of that beard, I'll think you look even better!! And you wear a cap so often that we won't even notice the hair loss that you SAY you are having...I didn't think it looked thinner this weekend. It was good to see you; thanks for bringing that heavy soup "cauldron" over...glad you enjoyed the she-crab-soup. My heart has been singing all day because Alex, for the first time, got into Steve's truck on her own; she slowly is beginning using that back left leg that was so severely damaged. Having Steve take her with him all day and night is having very positive effects. Having him take care of Alex has lifted tremendous worry and responsibility from my shoulders...I'm so glad that you and Terry will be next door again next week. Love to you both, becky
